The short version
- Apply on stimz.com. We read every application and email you when your account is open.
- Sign in at affiliates.stimz.com/portal with your email and a six-digit code. No password.
- Set up: agree to the terms, add your handles and photo, and connect Stripe so we can pay you.
- Share your link, and a discount code for your followers if you make one. Every order through them earns you a share of what the customer spent on products.
- Post when something fits you. Start the caption with "Ad", tag #stimfluencer, then paste the post's link into the Posts tab.
- Get paid monthly through Stripe once orders have cleared (28 days), or swap what has cleared for stimz.com store credit with a bonus on top.
Joining
Apply
Everyone who holds a Stimfluencer account is 18 or over. Which page you apply on depends on who is making the content.
| Who you are | Where to apply |
|---|---|
| 18 or over, applying for yourself | The Stimfluencer page: stimz.com/pages/stimfluencers-15 |
| A parent or guardian of someone under 18 who will use our products (this includes 16 and 17 year olds who make their own content) | The parent and guardian page: stimz.com/pages/stimfluencers. The account is in your name, you agree to the terms, and payments come to you. |
- Use the email address you want to sign in with. It is how we recognise you, and it is where your sign-in codes go.
- We read every application and cannot always say yes. We email you the moment your account is open.
- If you try to sign in before then, the portal tells you your account is not open yet. You do not need to apply again.
- Go to affiliates.stimz.com/portal.
- Type your email address and tap Email me a code.
- We email you a six-digit code. It works for 15 minutes.
- Type the code in and tap Sign in.
There is no password to remember. You stay signed in on that device for 30 days. To sign out, go to the About tab and tap Log out at the bottom.
Code not arrived?
- Check your spam and promotions folders.
- Make sure you typed the email address you applied with.
- Ask for a new code. Only the newest one works.
- Still stuck? Tap Trouble signing in? under the sign-in box and tell us what is happening.
Agree to the terms
The first time you sign in, you will see a short summary of the terms and a link to the full version. They are written to be read, and they explain the reasons behind the rules. Tick the box to confirm you have read them and are 18 or over, then tap Agree and continue.
You agree once. We record which version you agreed to and when. If we change the terms in a way that matters to you, we email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect (terms 19).
Step 4Set up your account
Right after the terms, a short set-up walks you through the important parts, one screen at a time: your photo and handles, a couple of optional questions about you, whether anyone under 18 might appear in your content, connecting Stripe, your link, and where your posts go. It takes about five minutes, and you can finish later. Everything it asks can be changed afterwards in the About tab, which also holds the rest:
| In About | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your photo | Add a clear photo of you. It shows at the top of your dashboard and stays inside the programme. |
| About you | Optional: gender and age range. It helps us match campaigns to the right people. |
| Does a child appear in your content? | Tick this if anyone under 18 appears in content you post about Stimz, and choose their age range. See Parents and guardians. |
| Your handles | Add your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook names. This is how we find and credit your posts. |
| Your share | Shows your level and your rate. See Commission and levels. |
| Getting paid | Tap Set up payouts (Stripe). You can do this any time before your first payment, but do it early so nothing waits on it. |
| For our tax records | Your address, and your National Insurance number or UTR if you are happy to give it. Your VAT number if you are registered. |
| Your income statement | Download what we paid you, the retail value of anything we sent you and any store credit, for each tax year. |
Setting up Stripe: what it asks, and the one trap
- Use the same email you sign in with here. Stripe sends its own six-digit code.
- Choose your country, then Individual, unless you really do trade through a limited company.
- When it asks for a website, give the profile where you post about us, for example instagram.com/yourname. A social profile is fine.
- Do not use the "Don't have a website? Add product description instead" option. It tells Stripe you do not promote products on social media, which is not true for you, and it can get your account held for review later.
- Use your legal name as it appears on your ID. The bank account must be in your own name.
- Stripe may ask for a photo of your passport or driving licence. It goes to Stripe. We never see your ID or your bank details.
Your portal, tab by tab
There are five tabs: Dashboard, Orders, Posts, Link and About.
Dashboard: what each number means
| Tile | What it means |
|---|---|
| Earned | Your share of everything you have sold. This is your money. Your current rate shows next to it. |
| Orders | How many orders came through your link or your codes. Tap it to see every one. |
| Revenue | What those orders were worth: the products, after discounts, without VAT and without delivery. Your share is a percentage of this, not of what the customer paid at the till. |
| Still clearing | Earned, but not payable yet. Every order waits 28 days. |
| Next payout | What has cleared and is ready, and how close you are to your payment threshold. You can change your threshold here, or swap what has cleared for store credit with a bonus on top (see Getting paid). |
| Paid to you | What has actually left our account, including anything you swapped for store credit. |
| Link clicks, 7 days | Clicks on your link this week. |
| Visitors | People rather than clicks. One person clicking five times is five clicks and one visitor. |
Until your set-up is finished, the dashboard shows what is left, with a button to carry on where you stopped.
The other tabs
- Orders: every order that came to you, newest first, with whether it came through your link or a code and where it has got to: clearing (with the date it clears), cleared, paid, refunded or cancelled. Tap one to see how your share was worked out. You never see who bought or what was in their basket.
- Posts: add the links to your posts, and see views, likes and comments for each one. Filter by network and period, and sort by what did best.
- Link: your personal link, a tool that makes a tracked link to any product, and Share your %, where you make discount codes for your followers.
- About: your photo, profile, handles, level and rate, payouts, tax details and income statement.
Sharing
Share your link
Your personal link is on the Link tab. It looks like stimz.com/r/yourname. Copy it and put it anywhere: your bio, stories, captions, descriptions.
When someone clicks it, the order is yours whatever they buy, not only the thing you posted about.
Linking to one product: on the Link tab, paste any stimz.com page into Link to a product and we give it back with your tracking on it.
How tracking works, including where it fails
- A link counts for up to 30 days from the click.
- On iPhones and in Safari it is usually nearer 7 days. That is how those browsers handle stored data, and we cannot change it.
- Links do not follow people between devices. Click on a phone, buy on a laptop, and only a code carries the order to you.
- Among links, the most recent click wins. If someone clicks another Stimfluencer's link after yours and then buys without using a code, the order is theirs.
- Express checkout skips your link. The quick-pay buttons on a product page (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) go straight to checkout, so only a code carries those orders to you.
- If someone clears their cookies or refuses tracking, there is nothing to attribute.
- The browsers inside Instagram and TikTok are the least reliable of all.
Lead with a discount code
A discount code you make for your followers also tells us the order is yours. It works on any device, in any browser, however long afterwards, and it survives someone clearing their data. It beats any link too: if an order uses your discount code, it is yours, whatever links the customer clicked. Use your link as well as a code, not instead of it.
When an order comes in, we check these in order and use the first that matches: one of your discount codes, then a personal code (only if we have set one up for you), then your link. Orders placed with your own email address are recorded against you but marked as your own purchase, and they earn nothing.
Step 6Share your % with a discount code
You can give some of your share to your followers as a discount. You make the code yourself on the Link tab, under Share your %.
- Pick a code of at least three letters or numbers, for example KAYLA10.
- Choose how much your followers save, as a percentage.
- Optional: set a maximum number of uses and an end date. Worth doing when a code goes with one post.
- Tap Create code. It works in the shop straight away. The portal shows what you keep before you create it.
How your followers use it
- They type your code in the discount code box at checkout on stimz.com. They do not need to have clicked your link.
- It works on any device and any time later, so someone who sees your post on their phone and buys on a laptop next week still counts to you.
- It beats any link. If an order uses your code, the order is yours, whatever links the customer clicked before.
- It can be used alongside our own sales and offers. Your share is then worked out on what the customer actually paid for products, after every discount.
- Each code in the list under the form shows how many times it has been used and what it has earned you. On the Orders tab you can show only the orders that came through your codes.
How the money works
The discount comes out of your share, not ours. On orders that use the code, you keep your rate minus the discount. Every other order still earns your normal rate, and so does everything after the code ends or is stopped.
| An example (not your rate) | Follower saves | You keep |
|---|---|---|
| Your share is 10%. An order uses your 5% code. | 5% off | 5% of the order |
| Your share is 10%. An order comes through your link, no code. | Nothing | 10% of the order |
- You can give away as much as your whole share. Give all of it and you earn nothing on the orders that use that code, so the portal shows what you keep before you create it.
- Codes are percentage off only. A fixed amount off can cost more than a small order is worth.
- You can stop a code at any time from the list under the form. When a code ends, the orders it brought in keep what they earned.
- One code for each campaign is worth it. Give a post its own code with a use limit and an end date, and you can see exactly what that post sold.
- Your code is for your audience. Do not post it on voucher sites, deal forums or coupon aggregators. If a code leaks to one of those, we usually have to end it.
Posting
Make your post
You decide what you make and when. There is no quota, no schedule and no minimum, and we do not approve posts before they go out. Five things every post needs:
- "Ad" at the very start of the caption. "Ad", "Advert" or "Advertisement", with or without a hash. On video, also show it on screen, early, readable and long enough to read. Saying it out loud as well is better still. "Gifted", "#aff", a code on its own or a line in your bio are not enough. If you are unsure whether a post counts, label it.
- Your own experience, not health claims. Talk about how a product feels, what you do with it and why you reach for it. Never say or suggest it treats, helps, manages or relieves ADHD, autism, anxiety, sensory processing or any other condition, in the caption, on screen, out loud or in replies.
- #stimfluencer and your handle, so we can find the post.
- Your code, and your link where the platform allows it.
- Nothing aimed at children buying. Never tell children to buy, or to ask an adult to buy. "Ask your mum to get you one" and anything like it is against UK law.
Why we are strict about these
A post connected to this programme is an advert in law. When the labelling or a claim is wrong, the regulator names both of us. Repeatedly failing to label posts ends a place in the programme. The terms explain each rule in full.
Submit your post
After you post, paste the link into your portal. It takes ten seconds.
- Open the Posts tab.
- Choose the network: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook.
- Paste the full link to the post (not your profile).
- Answer Does anyone under 18 appear in this post? If yes, choose the age of the youngest, tick the three confirmations, and choose whether Stimz may repost it.
- Tap Add post.
- We read the views, likes and comments, and update them weekly for the first two weeks while the post is still moving.
- We can only count what each network shows us. Instagram does not share view counts for photo and carousel posts, so those count on their likes and comments. Reels and videos count views too. Facebook does not share its figures with us at all.
- Posts tagged #stimfluencer can sometimes be found automatically. Paste yours in anyway, so nothing is missed.
- Each post can be logged once, by one person. We take the tracking off the end of the link, so the same post pasted twice is still spotted, and the portal tells you.
- Private accounts: if a post is on a private account (or has been removed), we cannot see it. The portal says so, its views and likes cannot count, and it will not appear on our website. Sales through your link and codes still count as normal.
Why it matters
- It is how we see your post at all. We are not watching every feed.
- Its views, likes and comments count towards your leaderboard score. They do not set your rate, which depends on your sales (see Commission and levels), but people near the top of the leaderboard may be offered a promotional bonus rate for a while.
- It is how your post can be featured on the Stimz site and channels.
- It lets us tell a quiet month apart from a month where a post did well and the sales came later.
If you never paste your posts in, you still earn on your sales. Your work just stays invisible when we decide who to back.
The leaderboard
How it works
We score every Stimfluencer on three things:
| What counts | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Sales, which count most | The value of orders through your link and codes. |
| Views | Views on the posts you have submitted in the Posts tab. Instagram does not share views for photo and carousel posts, so those count on likes and comments. Facebook figures are not read. |
| Engagement | Likes and comments on those posts. |
- Your own purchases and cancelled orders do not count.
- Follower count is not part of the score. A smaller account making good content can place well.
- We can compare like with like, for example by account size, so a small account is not measured against one many times bigger.
- We review it every month.
- It is our view of the programme. It is not published, and other Stimfluencers do not see where you are on it. Your own numbers are on your Dashboard, Orders and Posts tabs.
Why we have it
- Sales alone would only ever reward the biggest audiences. Counting views and engagement lets good content be noticed, including before it turns into sales.
- It is how we decide who to back as the programme grows. There are no set prizes. We may pick people doing great things, usually those near the top, for things like product testing, early access to new releases, being featured on our site and channels, store credit, or a promotional bonus rate for a set period. We will tell you when something is on offer.
- Leaderboard points are for the leaderboard only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for anything. Any recognition is our choice.
- There is no penalty for a quiet month.
Commission and levels
- You earn a percentage of every order attributed to you: the value of the products after discounts, not VAT and not delivery.
- Your rate shows on your Dashboard (next to Earned) and in About → Your share.
- Levels can move your rate up as your sales grow. About → Your share names your level and tells you exactly what the next one needs, for example "£120 more revenue in the last 365 days".
- Levels are based on sales only: the value of orders through your link and codes over the last 365 days. Posting, followers, views and engagement do not set your rate. They count on the leaderboard instead, which is how we recognise good work in other ways.
- Because sales count over the last 365 days, your level can go down as well as up if your sales over that time fall, for example as older orders leave the year, or through refunds. We email you a few days before a drop would happen, and About → Your share says what would keep you there.
- The rate in force when an order is placed is stored against that order. A later change, up or down, never rewrites your history.
- Orders that use one of your follower codes earn your rate minus the discount you gave (see Step 6).
- We can change the standard rate, any rate we have set for you, and the levels and what they ask for, for any reason, on 14 days' notice by email. Changes only apply to orders placed after they take effect, so what you have already earned never goes down.
Why the rates are not in this guide
Rates and levels can change, and your portal always shows the ones that apply to you right now. Your rate, your levels and your figures are confidential between you and us.
Getting paid
- Every order clears 28 days after it is placed. That covers delivery and the window in which a customer can change their mind. Until then it shows as Still clearing.
- We pay monthly, through Stripe, once your cleared balance reaches your threshold.
- The minimum payment is shown in your portal (currently £50). You can choose a higher threshold in the Next payout tile if you would rather have fewer, larger payments. Anything under your threshold rolls into the next month. It is never lost.
- Stripe's fee for sending your payment comes off it, at cost: £2 in any month you are paid, plus 0.25% and 10p a payment, so about £2.22 on a £50 payment. Your portal shows it before you are paid, under What comes off it? Store credit has no fee.
Or take it as store credit, with a bonus on top
Once something has cleared, tap the store credit button on the Next payout tile and choose how much to swap. There is no minimum and no fee, even under the payment minimum, because there is no transfer to pay for. We add a bonus, and the screen shows the exact credit before you confirm.
- It goes onto your stimz.com account with the same email as your portal, so create one on stimz.com first if you do not have one.
- A swap is final: the credit cannot be turned back into money or passed on.
- Orders you pay for with it are your own, so they earn nothing.
- Swaps are not available if you are VAT registered.
- See every order on the Orders tab, with where it has got to and how your share was worked out.
- Refunds: if an order is partly refunded, your commission is worked out on what the customer kept. If it is fully refunded, cancelled, charged back or fraudulent, no commission is due. If that happens after we have paid you, or after you swapped it for store credit, the difference comes off your next payment. Refunded delivery charges make no difference. We check recent orders against our shop every night, so a refund always counts.
- Your own orders earn nothing. Buy whatever you like, with your own codes if you want. Orders on your own email are recorded but excluded. Big discount codes are for your audience: if we think one is being used mainly for you, your family or your friends, we may cancel those orders, take the commission and the discount back from what we owe you, and end your place (terms 12.1). Your own orders and reviews also do not earn Stimz Rewards points.
If you are a parent or guardian
- The account is yours, in your own name. You agree to the terms and payments come to you.
- Whether your child appears is a decision for you and your child, appropriate to their age and understanding. Stimz never requires a child to appear, and nothing depends on it: not your share, your level, gifting or being selected.
- Your child must be happy to take part each time, and always free to stop.
- You can take part fully without your child appearing at all. Tell us what you noticed: what they reached for, what they avoided, what they loved, what did not suit them.
- We never give filming briefs for children, and we never tell you what your child should say or do.
- Every time you add a post, you are asked whether anyone under 18 appears in it. If yes, you give the age of the youngest and confirm three things: you are their parent or guardian, they were happy to take part and knew they could stop, and you have checked whether a licence or permit is needed.
- We only repost a post with a child in it if you say yes for that post. Saying no changes nothing about your share, level or place. You can change your answer at any time from the post, and a post you say no to comes off our website.
- Also tick the box in About if anyone under 18 appears in your content, and keep it up to date.
- A licence or permit may be needed for some content involving children, and checking is your responsibility. If you are not sure, ask your local council before you post. It costs nothing to ask.
- Content with a child in it is never used in paid advertising without a separate agreement with you and our own checks first. Even with your yes, we may decline to repost content involving a child.
- 16 and 17 year olds can make the content themselves, with you holding the account.
Tax
- You are self-employed for this. Commission is normally taxable income, including if you have a job, and including if you leave it sitting in Stripe.
- Products or store credit we give you, including credit you swap your commission for and its bonus, may have tax implications too, even though no cash changes hands. We tell you the normal retail value of anything we send.
- We pay you the gross amount and deduct nothing. Your income statement in About shows what we paid you, the retail value of what we sent you and any store credit, for each tax year, and you can download it as a spreadsheet.
- HMRC's trading allowance may mean you have nothing to report, but it covers your total income of this kind from everywhere, not just from us.
- HMRC can ask us who we have paid. We are not able to give tax advice. HMRC's guidance is at gov.uk/self-assessment-tax-returns.
Good to know
- No exclusivity. You can work with other brands.
- Your content stays yours. By posting about us, you let us reshare it on our own social channels, website and emails, crediting you, while you are in the programme and for 12 months afterwards. We never put it into an advert we pay to run without asking you first, separately, and you are free to say no.
- We never pay for reviews, and you should refuse if anyone offers. You are welcome to review products on our shop as a customer. If we sent you the product, or you could earn from it, say so in the review.
- If you go quiet, genuine orders still coming through your existing links and codes keep earning while your place continues. Your level depends on your sales over the last year, so a long quiet spell can lower it over time (see Commission and levels).
- One account each.
- Keep your details current in the portal: email, handles and payment details. Wrong details usually mean wrong or missing money.
- Leaving: email us and we close your account. We pay any cleared balance in the normal way, and anything still clearing once it clears. Orders placed after your place ends do not count to you, and your codes are switched off.
- We can end your place too, at any time and for any reason, including if your content no longer fits the Stimz brand. You keep the commission you have earned up to then, unless it came from fraud or from content that broke the rules (terms 18.3).
Your first day
- Sign in at affiliates.stimz.com/portal and agree to the terms.
- Add your photo and handles in About.
- Set up Stripe, so nothing is waiting on it later.
- Make your first discount code on the Link tab.
- Put your link and code where your audience will see them.
- When something fits, post it: "Ad" first, #stimfluencer, your code. Then paste the link into Posts.
